How To Use Oils For Makeup And Beauty

We all buy so many makeup and beauty products on a regular basis to stay beautiful and young for a longer time. However we forget about the products like oils which not really are cosmetics or skincare products but can definitely replace those and work even better if used wisely. And the best part about these oils is that these are always handy. You can always find these in your kitchen. 
The commonest use of oils is for hair to make those shinier and stronger. However there are various other ways in which these oils have proven theirselves to be extremely useful. So let's get started to know what these are:

1. Massage oil: Oils are great to massage face and body. Coconut oil, olive oil and almond oil are some great massage oils because these are rich in vitamin E and extremely beneficial for skin. These are inexpensive and easily available also. Massage helps to improve blood circulation and thus brings a natural pink glow to the skin. It also relieves from dry skin.Just take a few drops of any of these oils and massage in circular motion on your face and pretty much anywhere on your body and you are good to go.

2. A drop in foundation: If you want to cover your flaws with foundation but want it to look natural on your skin then mix a drop of oil in your favourite foundation and apply like you normally do and you will notice that it looks much better and blends really easily because of oil. It will make you look like you have naturally glowing skin. You can use olive oil, almond oil or any other vegetable oil which is light weight. However don't use essential oils because those are really strong and concentrated and can harm your skin.

3. For eyebrows: Eyebrows are the most important feature of our face because these frame the face and can affect your overall look in a noticeable way. Thicker and fuller eyebrows make you look years younger than your age. However, not everyone is blessed with naturally thick eyebrows. So , to make those grow fuller, take cold-pressed castor oil and apply it on yurt eyebrows with the help of a spooly brush, q-tip, make up brush or even with your clean finger before you go to bed. Do this for a couple of days and you will clearly see tie eyebrows becoming thicker and fuller.

4. For eyelashes: Eyelashes that are long and fuller accentuate the beauty of eyes. These days markets are flooded with mascaras of different types and fake eyelashes to help people with scanty eyelashes. However if you don't want to use those and want your eyelashes to be naturally thicker and longer then apply some castor oil on the base of your eyelashes before you hit the bed and see those becoming fuller and longer.

5. As a deodorant: Body odour is one of the biggest turn off's. Odorous underarms will embarrass you and make others uncomfortable having you around them. Regular use of chemical based deodorants can make your underarms rough and dark. However a drop of coconut can solve the problem. Apply some coconut oil in the underarms and say good-bye to body odour without ruining the skin of your armpits.

6. Make a lip scrub: Lip scrubs are very effective to cast dead and flaky skin off lips. Great quality lipsticks also look bad on dry and chapped lips because these accentuate the flakes on dry lips. However you can always get rid of this ugly looking dead skin on lips by scrubbing your lips with a lip scrub. To make a lip scrub at home, simply take olive or almond or any other vegetable oil which is edible and mix some sugar in it and your lip scrub is ready. Use it in circular motion on your lips and you will have soft and smooth kissable lips.

7. To tame frizzy hair: We all love smooth, shiny and manageable hair. However due to the adverse effects of pollution, heat, chemicals and hot water; hair become frizzy. To smoothen the appearance of your tresses, oils come handy. Take a drop of extra virgin oil or Argan oil or macadamia oil and spread it on your palms and apply it straight away to your hair to tame all the flyaways. Being light weight oils, these will not make your hair oily or greasy and instead will work like a serum. 

8. For dry skin: Who does not hate the feeling of having dry skin ? We all do. Skin that is dry looks patchy, flaky and dull and makes you look way more older than you actually are. To heal dry skin, use any of the coconut oil, olive oil or almond oil right after bath and before you hit the bed. It works wonders for your skin and provide the much needed nourishment.

9. For cuticles: Cuticles are the dead cells which are present on the nails. These protect the nail bed from infection. However these cuticles, if not taken care of, can make your nails look ugly. Olive oil  and coconut oil work really well to soften these cuticles. Just apply any one out of the cocunut oil or olive oil on your cuticles and massage. Doing so on regular basis will give you soft cuticles and strong and shiny nails.

10. Cracked heels: Cracked heels are not only ugly to look at but painful also. If not dealt with at an early stage, these cracks can deepen and lead to infection. To heal cracked heels, heat some 2 tbsp of mustard oil in a pan and add about 2 inch piece of a regular candle and let the wax melt in the hot oil. Mix the two together and let it cool and apply on the affected area of your heels at bedtime and wear socks. You will get up with soft and smooth feet.

11. Moisturiser: Cocunut oil, olive oil and almond oil are excellent moisturisers for skin. You can use olive oil in summers because it's a light weight oil and cocunut or almond oil in winters. These can be used alone or as a mixture. Just mix cocunut, olive and almond oil in the ratio 1:1:1 and slightly warm it up and store it in a bottle and apply it all over your dry skin.

12. Lighten scars: A clear, glowing and flawless skin is a dream of everyone. However due to pimples and other skin problems scars and pigmentation appear on the skin. Although foundations and concealers can hide these scars but to clear these permanently some oils can do wonders. Cocunut oil if applied regularly on scars helps to lighten those. Bio-oil also is extremely helpful in lightening the scars and even stretch marks.

13. Mix in face packs: Face packs are used to close the open pores of the skin after performing basic steps of skincare which are cleansing and scrubbing. We all use face packs quite often but most of us did not know that a drop or two of oils like almond oil or olive oil can take the benefits of face pack to the next level. You will have glowing skin after using facepack mixed with some oil.

14. Shaving: Shaving is a fast and painless method to remove body hair. However unlike waxing, it makes the skin rough and dry with time. To maintain the beauty of skin despite of regular shaving, soap or shaving creams can be replaced with oil. Just massage olive oil or any other moisturising oil of your choice on your legs and arms or any other area to be shaved and use the razor like you normally do. You will have clean and moisturised skin afterwards.

15. Chapped lips: Chapped lips are a pain to have and look unattractive at the same time. To heal chapped, dry or flaky lips ; put 1-2 drops of mustard oil in your navel everyday after bath and before bedtime and you will have soft and smooth lips. You can also use desi ghee to apply on chapped lips and it will relieve those from dry flakes.

Oils are definitely multitaskers and the best part about these oils is that these are easily available, natural and inexpensive. These tips are my sure-shot tips which I have been using for ages now and these will work for you too.
